Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
It was established by the attempt to support the recovery from the great east japan earthquake on march 11, 2011 from the economic aspect. Kesennuma is a major production center (this is a rare town in the world that uses all the parts of the meat and bones with supplements such as kamaboko (boiled fish paste) and cartilage collagen, fin with shark fin and leather.) for shark fins and kamaboko (nerimono) made from sharks, and boasts one of the world's largest shark catches. But the tsunami caused by the earthquake took everything away from a city. We want to make Kesennuma a shark town that we can be proud of again. With this in mind, we continue to produce shark leather products. The brand name reflects our desire to be a group that creates products that let people know about kKesennuma through shark leather.
2011年3月11日に発生した東日本大震災の復興を経済面から支援しようとしたのがきっかけです。サメを原料としたカマボコ(練り物)やフカヒレなどの一大生産拠点(身肉はカマボコ、骨は軟骨コラーゲン等のサプリメント、ヒレはフカヒレ、皮はレザーに加工し、全ての部位を活用する世界的にも珍しい町)であり、世界有数のサメ漁獲量を誇る気仙沼は長きに渡りサメと共生してきた港町でした。しかし、地震が引き起こした津波は全てを奪っていきました。気仙沼を再び世界に誇れるサメの町として盛り上げていきたい。そんな想いでサメ革製品を作り続けています。ブランド名は、サメ革を通じて気仙沼のことを知ってもらえるモノづくりをしていく集団でありたいとの想いを込めました。
