I began creating my products because my hometown was close to the source of Mizuhiki, a traditional Japanese craft. I was drawn to the elegant and delicate colors of Mizuhiki, as well as its flexibility. The brand name, "petit chouchou," is a combination of "petit," meaning small, and "chouchou," meaning favorite. It is a wish that our creations become the "small favorites" in the daily lives of those who wear them.
日本の伝統工芸である水引の産地に地元が近かったことと、水引の上品で繊細な色味としなやかさに惹かれて制作を始めました。ブランド名は、petit 小さな chouchou お気に入り をあわせており、手にされた方の日々の生活の【小さなお気に入り】となりますようにとの願いをこめております。

商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
Mizuhiki is a decorative cord about 90 cm long, made from paper. The process of creating our pieces involves folding, layering, and bending the Mizuhiki cords to form the final designs.
水引は１本約９０㎝の飾り紐で、紙で出来ており、重ねたり合わせたり曲げたりすることで作品が出来上がります

ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
As the situation with COVID improved, we noticed an increase in purchases from international customers. We were keen to understand what designs, color palettes, and products were favored by overseas customers.
コロナも落着き、海外の方からご購入して頂くことが、再び増え始め、どのようなデザイン・色味・作品が好まれるか率直な意見を知りたかった為。

"Ume Musubi Cotton Pearl Earrings & Earrings" are my favorite. These pieces combine the famous "Ume Musubi" Mizuhiki knotting technique with lightweight cotton pearls, making them a popular choice that can be worn both casually and formally.
