Q1. What made you decide to establish your own brand?

Before starting this brand, I was pursuing my career in music. However, I wasn't sure what I really wanted to do. One day, I happened to see a glasswork on the street, and that reminded me that I liked glassworks very much. I learned there was a certain tequeniqu to make glassworks and it leaded me to actually make it by myself. I established Takamura Glass Works because I was completely sure that this was exactly what I wanted to do.

Q2. Please describe your production process.

I usually start off with melting a glass made in Italy or America with the burner on the desk. Then, I make a shape as if I give a shape to my image of bird in my image. I use a certain tequenique called lampworking.(Lampworking is a type of glasswork where a torch or lamp is primarily used to melt the glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements.) Finally, I add a design on it by melting colored glasses one by one and put them together.

Q3. What made you interested in NY market?

I'd like to get inspiration by selling my products in NY, and make this an opportunity to motivate myself too.

Q4. Why did you choose to use a bird in your design?

I liked nature very much and I would always go to a thicket, a river, and a mountain near by my house when I was young. It was easy to see birds in the nature, and it's been my most favorite animal. Birds are, of course, beautiful but spiritual at the same time. I feel they are spiritual because they have a special skill that human don't have, flying in the sky.

Q5. Lastly, please share some comments to customers at the ARCADE JAPAN.
