Q1. What made you decide to establish your own brand? What is meaning of brand name?

When I used to work for a street fashion apparel brand, I met a vintage kimono called "Meisen" at a flea market in Japan. I found commonalities between the Meisen Kimono and street fashion, and that's how I started to get into collecting the antique items. Eventually, I started creating fashion accessories that can easily blend into our modern daily lifestyle.  My goal with LOTTA is that more people will see and enjoy the charm of vintage Meisen Kimono.

Q2. Please describe your production process.

My production process starts with finding Vintage Meishin Kimono. I unsew the garment back to one piece of cloth,  Solve the kimono, return it to a piece of fabric, handwash it, finish with an iron, check if there's any damage, and finally go into production. Since it is essential to lay out the pattern at which position, once the design is decided, I cut it by hand and start the sawing process.

Q3. What made you interested in NY market?

Traveling is one of my passions, and actually, the very first overseas trip I took by myself was to New York!! Ever since I went back to NY many times. I love New York City. I think New York City is such an exciting city with loads of information, goods, and people. I was curious to see, in such city,  how people react to my hand-crafted one and only pieces. I'm so excited that my products are going to be in New York!!!!

Q4. Which one is your favorite piece? And why?

My favorite product line is a pouch series. The combination of the Vintage Meisen silk and nylon mesh creates a pop and fun feeling to it. It's light, durable, and super versatile! This is one of my best selling products.

Q5. Lastly, please share some comments to customers at the ARCADE JAPAN.
